James Taylor

James Taylor at The Chelsea

Why see James Taylor?

Sweet Baby, It's James!

A true legend associated with Californian folk-rock, James Taylor is one of the most personal and intimate songwriters, who continues to make fresh, new artistic triumphs a mere forty years after his breakthrough album.

In a career that started off with a bang in 1960's NYC, by way of Swingin' London and a cool collaboration with the Beatles, it was 1970 that brought Sweet Baby James (and his eponymous record) to public notice, displaying an epic and haunting maturity that seemed far beyond his 22 years and leading to his becoming part of a peerless group that defined that era, including Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne and many more. More recently he has inspired and worked with country mega-star Taylor Swift.

Expect such hits from the five-time Grammy Award Winner as 'Fire and Rain', 'Country Road', 'Something In The Way She Moves', 'Mexico', 'Shower The People', 'Your Smiling Face', 'Carolina In My Mind', 'Sweet Baby James', in an always incredible performance.

James Taylor - Caesars Palace

A real treat. JT usually plays large venues because he draws large crowds, yet his music is best heard in an intimate venue IMHO. Caesars Colosseum is a perfect compromise. It's big but not football stadium big. It was designed and built for entertainment, not sports. JT 's performance was superb. Band was inspired. Set list was exactly what I was hoping for. Mad props! ... Read more

Attended James Taylor concert at Caesar’s Palace last night. The smile on my face and warmth in my heart continue into the next day. My favorite music event - ever. At 71, he still has that great voice and genuine performance that are what keeps him relevant after all of the years. Highly recommend this event. Great venue - amazing artist. - you won’t be disappointed. ... Read more

A voice like butter

To say I'm a fan of James Taylor is an understatement. This is about the 30th time seeing ( a fact) him and he still took me back to each decade and made tear up at certain songs. Back up singers Arnold,Katie and his son Henry were outstanding. I was sad not to hear " Shower the people" ( always look forward to Arnold's solo and " Millworker"but hey I understand he has so many great songs he can't do them all. My favorites last night were Shed a little light"and Close your eyes with his son Henry. They sounded BEAUTIFUL together.I saw him when he was here last time at Ceasers and thought his voice was better last night. I adore this very talented man! Thanks for the great night James and Company! ... Read more
