Gary Clark Jr.

Gary Clark Jr. at Brooklyn Bowl

Why see Gary Clark Jr.?

Jpeg Raw Tour!

Gary Clark Jr. knows how to bag a Grammy - or four. His most recent studio album JPEG RAW shot straight into the top 10 of the Billboard chart (his third consecutive to do so) following 2019's critical darling This Land, which won the Grammy for Best Rock Song (This Land) and Best Contemporary Blues Album. One of the country's biggest stars in rock, jazz, country and soul,  Gary has received industry support from the likes of Alicia Keys, the Rolling Stones and Foo Fighters, who not only sing his praise but have him support their live shows.

As well as being a prodigious talent with his guitar, notably for his use of distorted chords, Clark is also an actor, having appeared in 2007's Honeydripper with Danny Glover; however it's his body of musical work (Bright Lights) that has seen multiple inclusions in films such as Identity Thief, Trouble with the Curve and Stand up Guys. Most recently Gary Clark Jr. performed at the finale of American Idol, in 2018.

Unbelievable night!

I caught the show on Oct 26th. Gary played and sang with so much heart. I felt blessed for being able to experience it. I've seen Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, Steve Vai and more. I was amazed that Gary Clark Jr. gave me a show that brought tears to my eyes. It was so beautiful. The view was great and this venue is fantastic. ... Read more

Wall of light and sound

Third time seeing GCJ - he has matured as a guitar player and entertainer. Amazing light show and a full throttle sound. Also saw Mayer, EC, Joe B this fall - tough to look ahead to next year after that. GCJ and Joe B topped my list. It was a full on pounding experience - if you were too close to the stage it might not have played out as well. GCJ has flushed out a better sounding traveling band. He brought his openers on for encore and there were some sound issues but did not stop the evening. It will be a shame if GCJ graduates to arenas as he is a perfect in the 5K-7500 auditorium. It is a high energy performance - his sound is an amazing cross of traditional blues, some reggae beats, little hip hop, some 70’s r&b, one song even had a Prince like vocals. He melds this all together into a pulsating show that can bowl you over. Go see GCJ - real deal! He played a few more shows then joined EC at Crossroads in Dallas. Now I wait patiently for TTB to come my way. ... Read more
