Travelling all the way from 1848 through to today, El Dia Nacional De La Banda is a spectacular concept show that celebrates the history of the proud Banda Music tradition with over eight of the genre's most important acts from past and present including Banda El Recodo, La Arrolladora, Gerardo Ortiz, Los Recoditos, Los Angeles Azules, Christian Nodal, La Adictiva and Raymix.
Formed in Mexico in the 1930s the Lizarraga family's Banda el Recodo has become one of the world's longest-running banda thanks to their exciting fusion of Latin dance, classical, swing and jazz with the bolero, ranchera, corrido and cumbia styles. The ever-evolving collective have released over 200 records in their time, garnering much respect and an iconic status in their homeland and the world over for their efforts. Their accolades include six Latin Grammys and the honor of being the first banda to bring the music of the barrios of Mexico to all five major continents.
